Neurodevelopmental Disorders

Developmental and behavioral disorders are classically-challenging to treat, but respond well to a functional approach to the nervous system.

While there is not a “cure” for any developmental disorder, there are several benefits to be reaped by a natural and holistic approach to neurologic care. In many cases, a child’s brain simply responds differently, and must be “talked to” in its unique language. Treatment plans with our practice involve multiple dimensions, including fun neurocognitive therapies, dietary counsel, sensorimotor integration, parent education, and more. Our results range from behavioral improvements at home and school, to integration of latent reflexes, to measurable improvement in delays. We take pediatric cases on for active care on a case-by-case basis.

Personalized Interventions

Neurodevelopmental care at TBFN typically includes a variety of interventions: dietary counseling, manual therapy, pediatric spinal manipulation (using repetitive, gentle pressure rather than the high-velocity push used for adults), physical therapy exercises rooted in biomechanics, and sensory protocols to integrate latent primitive reflexes and improve dysfunctional sensory input.

Typical Results

Our results range from improved behavior—described by parents as balanced emotional responses and increased attention span—to dramatically improved gait and movement, including mitigation of toe walking and enhancements in fine motor skills and upper body coordination.

Evaluation and Treatment Length

We evaluate pediatric patients on a case-by-case basis to determine their candidacy for treatment. If the doctor believes your child could benefit from conservative care at TBFN, a typical trial treatment plan lasts 3-6 weeks with treatments 2-3 times per week. All our patients receive comprehensive home exercise and therapy plans. Most patients experience notable improvement within the first 1-2 weeks.

Direct-Pay Office

TBFN is a direct-pay office. We accept cash, credit, debit, and HSA/FSA cards. We are also happy to provide our patients with superbills to submit to their insurance company for reimbursement. We do this to allow the doctor to spend the time necessary with patients for comprehensive care, and to guarantee our patients fair, flat rates for their care.
